Laurie Furman, MS, MSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and has been serving children, adolescents and their families since 1989. She has worked in a range of settings including community mental health centers, long-term inpatient mental health psychiatric facilities, family services agencies, and private practice.
Laurie’s services for children and families focus on anxiety, depression, divorce and post-divorce issues, grief and loss, self-esteem, social skills, and traumatic events. Her services for adult individuals include anger and stress management, anxiety, child abuse/trauma, depression, divorce recovery, grief and loss issues, mindfulness skills, occupation and career issues, personal growth and development and women’s issues. Services for couples and families include couples counseling, blended family issues, communication skills building, conflict resolution and premarital concerns.
Laurie focuses on improving relationships and strengthening families. In a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, she offers a personalized approach to help you (and your family) achieve your desired personal growth. Laurie consults with schools and institutions that serve children; she provides parent training workshops and group therapy for children and their parents on such topics as grief/loss, divorce, social skills, and gifted/talented needs.
